Training Log: 42-Mile Ride
Another Saturday, another great ride with the ALC crew. We rode out from Bike Attack in Santa Monica along the beach, following the route we rode two Sundays ago. This week, the route went out further, including a great two-mile climb through the hills. We had two beginning riders this week besides me, and both were troopers, pedaling through heat and hills and bugs in their eyes to come home smiling.
Round trip was about 42 miles according to the route sheet, and I'll have GPS info as soon as my Forerunner recharges.
Update 02/18/07: Let my GPS unit recharge, and it actually captured most of the ride. I didn't know how long it would last, as it claimed to only have 5 hours of battery time left. Plus, I didn't turn it on in time to capture the beginning of the ride. (I was running late, and had to get rolling ASAP.) But most of the route is there, including the climb up Via Capesina.
