Palos Verdes Peninsula Ride

Okay, I'm finally starting to get caught up. I've run a few errands, fixed a few bugs, eaten, and it's time to post about last week's incredible ride before tomorrow, when I head out on this week's incredible ride.

So, to sum up: the map is here, and the stats are here. ~60 miles, with plenty of climbing, and terrible weather.

Actually, the weather was fantastic. I just wasn't dressed for it. I took the advice of one of the ride leaders, and left my arm warmers in the car, believing that the fog would burn off, the sun would come out, and it would turn into a sunny 75° day. It did not. It stayed an overcast 57° day, and I was pretty cold for most of the ride. (Cold was to be a theme this week. More on that when I post about NYC.)

Bottom line: I did fine on the climb, and I'm really happy with my progress. But I'm still a beginner, and I still have a long, long way to go. I really want to find a group to mountain bike with, but for now I'm sticking with the ALC: I'm really only in good enough shape for one big ride a week. Maybe in the fall I'll be ready for consecutive road/trail days?
