I got to Wildwood just after six o'clock, and jumped to throw on my gear and get moving. With daylight saving time in effect, the sun sets just after seven, and I had just enough time for my favorite loop around the park.

I did my usual loop: Evening Sky Dr. up to the Lower Butte trail, then west along Santa Rosa and down the switchbacks. After that I had just enough time for an eastward spin on Stagecoach Bluff.

I didn't get everything on the first try, and with the sun dropping fast, there just wasn't time for second chances. It was nice just to get what I could and keep moving.

Packing up in the parking lot, I ended up talking to a guy named Paul for a few minutes. Nice guy, and he knew a few trails I haven't tried, and vice versa. Turns out he used to ride the singletrack along las virgines creek that I hike-a-biked a while back. His last experience with that trail was much like mine, and he was sad to see it fall into disrepair. If the local Trail Blazers want to head out there and make this trail something special again, I'll go help.
