Dead Cow's Return

I haven't been out on my mountain bike much lately, and it's been making me edgy. I rode my old Rocky Peak/Chumash loop last weekend, and had fun, but definitely did not feel like I found The Flow, and so I've been determined to ride more often. Also, I'm determined to do some kind of workout every day I can, which means I have a bag packed with running stuff in my desk at work. Unless I ride, or have a meeting, I run.

Yesterday, in a demonstration of the massochism that makes me perfect for cycling, I decided to ride Dead Cow.

I love Dead Cow. It stands with the Rosewood/Space Mountain loop as the near-perfect after-work ride. Dead Cow skips the preliminaries. You get five minutes to warm up, then it's on. Sustained steep, technical climbing followed by awesome descent, in a package that takes about an hour.

And even though I'd planned to take a couple of pics with my snazzy new panorama app, I was just too busy having fun.
