Problems are Accumulating. Time for Solutions.

Problems are Accumulating. Time for Solutions.

My pinched nerve is still in effect and is getting worse. It's been affecting my left arm since just after Thanksgiving, but I must have slept wrong or something this week, because now it's affecting my right arm as well. I'm still strong on the right, but my thumb is numb and tingly. (Meanwhile, my left continues to improve.)

An MRI has revealed a bulging disc at C6-7. My GP is giving me the usual garbage about how I shouldn't run, bike, swim, hike, do yoga, lift anything heavier than 25 lbs, or even turn my head to the left or right, and that that there's no point doing another MRI in six months or a year, because the disc will never really improve.

I'll be damned if I'm going to spend the next fifty years on the couch.

I need a trainer who can help me train my way past my current injury and establish a long-term plan for building a solid, durable body that will serve me well into old age. I need the benefit of experience, and I need someone who understands what it is to make physical strength and capability a building block of who you are.

But I'm just not sure I can afford that trainer. Not at the moment, anyway. So I'm trying the next best thing: I need to become that trainer.
